COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT
"What's Your Emergency"
Dispatchers answer calls and communicate with units to send the appropriate response. Dispatchers are also used in the emergency services field, dispatching police, fire and ambulances when someone dials 9-1-1 or non-emergency numbers. The communications department is probably the most important compare to all the other departments. Of course without them, how would anyone know when danger arises and who would answer 911 calls? That's where the communications department comes in handy. Being a dispatch isn't just answering 911 calls, it's being able to communicate with fellow officers within the field. The officers protect the community, where dispatch protects the officers. The guiding angel is another way of looking at the communications department.
